I’ve been wishing for a fancy cast iron dutch oven from Le Creuset. They are really expensive and seem to never go on sale, but Bloomingdale’s was recently selling them for half off. I jumped on the opportunity and got a 4.5 qt round dutch oven in cobalt. I have to say, run, don’t walk, to purchase one of these puppies. I also purchased a fantastic cookbook, Braises and Stews by Tori Ritchie. So far, we’ve made a pot roast and brisket from this cookbook and they were both fantastic. You can brown your meat stovetop, then put it right into the oven, then prepare sauces from the drippings back on the stovetop, all in the same pot. Granted, this cuisine is a bit heavy for mid-summer, but I just couldn’t wait to try it out.

This sounds similar to a pressure cooker which I really need! I don’t think one of these in necessary in my kitchen, I wouldn’t never get my $ worth.
